Tam’s Miracle:

Check out Tam’s Miracle for cute cards celebrating birthdays and adoptions.  Tam’s Miracle was created after Amy and Doug’s son, Tamirat, died of pneumonia while still in Ethiopia.  Amy and Doug are turning their tragedy into something positive as 20% of all proceeds from the sales of their cards go to Wide Horizon’s for Children’s Ethiopia Humanitarian Aid program.  Doug’s background in design gave him the talent to create these one of a kind cards.

Jodi Queenan, Artist:

I treated myself to one of Jodi’s prints of a white mother holding her black child.  Its a lovely, gentle picture and perfect for our home.  Jodi creates art that gives a voice to what is normal in our home.

Jimma Banana Art

jimma1Last year I purchased several 2009 calendars from Jimma-Banana to give as gifts.  They are beautiful hand-made calendars made with all parts of the banana tree.  They only cost $12 plus shipping.  An exciting part of this purchase is receiving your envelope covered in Ethiopian stamps as these calendars are made to order and mailed directly to you.

They also sell a large selection of cards.

2326864-4-life-on-the-streetAll proceeds from the sale of Kelly Putty’s photography goes to www.ordinaryhero.org.  Kelly’s passion is being a wife and mother of 6 with some photography on the side. After adopting their son from Ethiopia, she became a huge adoption advocate. They traveled to Ethiopia in late August of 2008 to pick up their son from his orphanage. She tried to capture the heart of Addis Ababa while she were there.  She has put together a collection of some of her favorite shots. Please visit their website at www.ordinaryhero.org.
