
Founded in 2004 by Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, her husband Paulos, and brother Kirubel to bring jobs to their community in Zenabwork, Ethiopia (near Addis Ababa), soleRebels is the FIRST Ethiopian IFAT Fair Trade footwear firm.
The over-arching business is called BOStex plc, which stands for “ By Ourselves textiles”- a nod to the fact that the company makes most of its inputs BY ITSELF AND BY HAND . The brand is now stocked by many leading retailers including Endless.com, Amazon.com, Urban Outfitters, Overstock.com, Whole Foods and by many other leading retailers!
soleRebels has created good jobs in their home town outside Addis Ababa, their methods are totally green, and their business model is completely Fair Trade. You can read their complete story here.

Toms Shoes is focused on a “shoe drop” in Ethiopia. For every pair of shoes they sell they will donate a pair to a child in Ethiopia.
